The Scams
There are innumerable scams on the internet these days and the sports and fitness area is one of the worst (but not as bad as weight loss by a country mile). As I write this, the most common scams are fake blogs with fake “As Seen on 60 Minutes” endorsements.
Your Rights
We do not hesitate to recommend products that offer us a commission, but we believe that you have certain rights as a consumer:
- Transparency. We will never recommend a product that has hidden fees or recurring fees unless that is 100% clear. Mike Boyle’s excellent StrengthCoach.com would be one example of a site that charges recurring fees, but is 100% transparent and is run by one of the absolute best strength coaches in the business. And for the record, that is not an affiliate link. It just happens to be true.
- Quality. Yes, there are scammers, but there are some fantastic online resources from membership sites to ebooks to video programs and we will only recommend programs that we think are decent, valid products. Obviously, that’s just our opinion and you should make an informed purchase just like anything else you buy. We also only recommend programs and products that have real people behind them who will back them up with a solid, but reasonable guarantee.
- Real People, Real Businesses. The products we recommend are from real businesses and real people. We shop at Bodybuilding.com for things like protein powders and supplements. You probably don’t need that stuff, but we like it and BB.com has incredible customer service. We like membership sites from experts like Mike Boyle (StrengthCoach.com), who trains pro athletes. These are people in the industry with reputations to protect, not some fake blog.
- Real Guarantees, Real Service. Mike Boyle lets you try his site for $1 for two weeks and you can cancel anytime. Adam Linkenauger guarantees his Vertfreak training product with a 60-day Money Back guarantees. Obviously, Bodybuilding.com won’t take your protein powder back if it’s opened (at least I don’t think so), but they were super about correcting a problem with one of my orders.
Our goal is to provide solid, science-based information and only the recommend the best products from the best merchants, free of hype. In short, to motivate you to follow through to Jump Higher.
Keep up!
Tom
